A 100-foot pine tree fell onto an Orcutt home causing major damage on Wednesday.

At 9:41 a.m., Santa Barbara County firefighters responded to a tree down on a structure at 4614 Martin Ave. Upon arrival, they found a 100-foot pine tree had fallen from a neighbor’s yard onto a residential home. The tree fell onto the garage and the main residence, causing major damage, said Fire Captain Dave Zaniboni.

Several occupants were inside the home at the time, but everyone was able to get out safely and no injuries were reports, said Zaniboni.

A nearby power pole also came down with the tree exposing live wires. PG&E was on scene to shut off the power to the live wires.

Captain Zaniboni stated crews will be on scene for a while to clean up debris and it’s unknown if the residents will be displaced. The Red Cross, as well as a building department inspector, were requested.
