Prepare to enter or re-enter the workforce and learn how to create and innovate culture and techniques to promote workplace creativity.
You may elect to take this course independent of a Career Skills Institute digital badge or apply it to the Project Management Certificate. Participants who earn this certificate will be enabled to develop the additional planning, idea generation and implementation skills to open up additional work and advancement opportunities. This certificate is also a gateway into other noncredit and credit programs, helping students develop workplace skills and training that will qualify them for even more work opportunities.

Microsoft Word 3

Prepare to enter or re-enter the workforce, or improve your personal or academic skills with new computer skills. Microsoft Word, Level 3 covers creating, managing and formatting tables in Microsoft Word and using Microsoft Word mail merge to create letters, labels and envelopes.
You may elect to take this course independent of a Career Skills Institute digital badge or apply it to the Microsoft Office Skills, Level 3 Noncredit Certificate. This Certificate prepares students for entry-level office clerk jobs and provides a basis for more advanced college training and career laddering. You will learn to format and navigate long documents, work with large and multiple worksheets and workbooks in Excel and modify an existing PowerPoint presentation to improve its overall appearance. Utilizing one of the elective MS Office Suite applications will enhance employability skills
To obtain the Microsoft Office Skills, Level 3 Noncredit Certificate, participants must complete a total of three required courses and one elective course:

United Way of Ventura County is excited to announce its United to End Homelessness Virtual Symposium on Friday, April 9, at 9 a.m. PST. The symposium will feature Matthew Desmond, author of Pulitzer Prize winning bestseller “Evicted: Poverty and Profit in the American City,” as its keynote speaker. Following Desmond’s address, there will be an opportunity for a Q&A session with the author, which will then lead into a panel discussion with local experts — moderated by Henry Dubroff, editor of the Pacific Coast Business Times — on addressing homelessness.
As part of the Corwin Chair Series, composer Dr. JoAnn Kuchera-Morin will give a lecture titled "Using the Creative Process as a Computational Framework for Unfolding Complex Systems" on Friday, April 9, 2021 at 11 am PDT via Zoom. Kuchera-Morin will discuss how we can apply the creative compositional process in building computational languages and computational platforms in order to represent very complex information through our senses, namely visual, audio, and interactive representations.

Prepare to enter or re-enter the workforce with the computer skills needed for entry-level office jobs with high employment potential jobs in Santa Barbara County and California. SBCC Career Skills Institute’s Introduction to Windows course helps you explore Help, windows navigation and management, file management, desktop customization, and other Windows Operating System and applications.
You may elect to take this course independent of a Career Skills Institute digital badge or apply it to the Beginning Computer Skills Certificate. Participants who earn this certificate will have developed the basic knowledge of computer functions in the Microsoft Windows environment. All Career Skills Institute classes are tuition-free.
To obtain the Beginning Computer Skills Certificate, participants must complete a total of two required courses and two elective courses:
