UCSB Ph.D. candidate George Degen will share his research studying the way marine mussels stick to surfaces, which should guide the design of new medical adhesives for use in the human body.

Under the direction of Maxim Kuzin, the UCSB Chamber Orchestra and UCSB choirs will present a special joint performance dedicated to the memory of UCSB Music alumna Dr. Linda Shaver-Gleason on Monday, March 9, 2020 at 7:30 pm in Lotte Lehmann Concert Hall. The concert will feature the UCSB Women's Chorus (directed by Graduate Assistant Valdis Jansons) performing works by Orlande de Lassus, William Boyce, Gioacchino Rossini, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, and Luigi Denza, as well as the UCSB Chamber Orchestra in a performance of Ludwig van Beethoven’s Egmont Overture. The UCSB Chamber Orchestra will also be joined by the UCSB Chamber Choir for a performance of Gabriel Fauré’s Requiem, Op. 48
