UC Santa Cruz Professor Pascale Garaud will present a selection of what scientists have learned from stars to date, and what they hope to learn in the future thanks to new advances in stellar seismology and high-performance computing. This virtual lecture is presented by the Kavli Institute for Theoretical Physics at UC Santa Barbara, and sponsored by the Friends of KITP.

The Corwin Series is pleased to welcome the Boston-based bass clarinet and marimba duo Transient Canvas (Amy Advocat and Matt Sharrock). Listeners will be introduced to an evening of contemporary music by living composers through the works of Yiyang Wang, Mischa Salkind-Pearl, Anthony R. Green, and Mikhail Johnson in a program titled: WAVES. UCSB composers and 2021 Corwin Award Winners Alexandra Marie Jones and Stewart Engart will also have new works premiered.

The UCSB Environmental Affairs Board, Sunrise-SB, Society of Fearless Grandmothers-SB and SBCAN are sponsoring a rally as part of the statewide CA Day of Action, led by Last Chance Alliance and CA Youth vs. Big Oil, on Friday April 8 at 12:00 PM at the County Administration Building, 105 E. Anapamu St., Santa Barbara. Youth and elders statewide will send a message to Governor Newsom: "No new fossil fuel permits!" 

Old Spanish Days presents 2022 Spirit & Junior Spirit of Fiesta Final Auditions on Saturday, April 9, 2022 at 2 PM.

Old Spanish Days is pleased to announce that the 2022 Spirit and Junior Spirit of Fiesta Final Auditions will be performed before a live audience! The pageantry of Old Spanish Days Fiesta will be on full display April 9, 2022 at 2 PM when 19 talented young dancers step on the stage at the historic Lobero Theatre where Fiesta began in 1924. The community is invited to share in the excitement of the day and watch the talented dancers perform. The show will culminate with the announcement of the 2022 Spirit and Junior Spirit of Fiesta.
