At Your Fingertips: Assistive Technology and Dyslexia

Students with dyslexia can benefit greatly from the use of assistive technology. November’s Dyslexia Dialogue, hosted by the Santa Barbara Public Library and Dyslexia Santa Barbara, will focus on creative uses of technology to help struggling readers. The workshop meets Wednesday, Nov. 8, at 7 p.m., in the Faulkner Gallery at the Central Library, 40 E. Anapamu St. in Santa Barbara, and is open to the public.

World Music Series: UCSB Middle East Ensemble

Scott Marcus leads a performance by the UCSB Middle East Ensemble of music and dance from a variety of Middle Eastern cultures, performed on traditional Middle Eastern instruments. Sue Rudnicki leads the Ensemble’s percussion section. Featuring solo dances by Cris! Basima, the director of the Ensemble’s Dance Company. The UCSB Middle East Ensemble will perform on Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at 12 p.m. in the UCSB Music Bowl as part of the World Music Series. Admission is free. The World Music Series is co-presented by the UCSB MultiCultural Center and the Ethnomusicology Program in the Department of Music.
