Take a Winter Hike for the Love of Nature
Come Visit Arroyo Hondo Preserve, The Jewel of the Gaviota Coast
Join knowledgeable docents for a guided tour of our beautiful preserve. Learn about chaparral, coastal sage scrub, oak woodland, streamside, and grassland habitats. Walk in the shade of giant sycamores, live oaks, and bays as you learn about local fauna, flora, and history.
If you prefer, you may hike on your own, without a docent guide. Be sure to wear strong shoes and bring a hat, water, and sunscreen.
Called the “Jewel of the Gaviota Coast,” the 782-acre Arroyo Hondo Preserve is a magnificent canyon located west of Santa Barbara between Refugio State Beach and Gaviota State Park.

Grammy-award winning, R&B singer Aaron Neville, with his distinct New Orleans sound and unique voice, takes the Lobero stage this December for a soulful duo performance featuring Michael Goods on keyboards–a format that allows him to share songs spanning his career and stories of his influences growing up.
As a successful recording artist for more than 50 years, Aaron Neville’s distinctive, soulful voice continues to produce hit music spanning many genres and musical styles, so it’s no surprise Rolling Stone Critics’ Poll named him the best male singer in the world.
Until now, it’s been easy to separate Aaron Neville’s career into two separate but equal strains: the funky stuff he’s favored when working with his esteemed band of brothers, and the angelic balladry you associate with him when he’s punching his own time card as a solo artist. Casual fans might admit they don’t know much — to borrow a phrase — about Neville’s musical center, but they’ve perceived a certain split in his career. An education is about to be provided, then, in the form of Apache, a solo album that makes the case for Aaron Neville as the most holistic of soul men. Its hard R&B side matches anything the Neville Brothers ever recorded for true grit, while still allowing plenty of space for a singer who’s arguably the most distinctive vocal stylist on the planet to tell it like it is.
