This exhibition consists of works donated to two recent community archives: the Santa Barbara Black Lives Matter Community Archives and the COVID-19 Community Archives
The Santa Barbara Permaculture Network Eco Hero Award honors those who have committed themselves to work in service of the planet and its inhabitants for thirty years or more, with actual solutions and concrete ways forward that benefit many, often on a global scale.
Joining us to receive the award, Paul Stamets live via Zoom, with Louie Schwartzberg live in theater, it will be an exciting & interactive evening with time for questions from the audience. Paul & Louie will share their life’s work & passion for nature, and how they came to collaborate on projects together, including the amazing Fantastic Fungi book & film. Their work will awe & inspire you!
A special treat for the community will be beautiful time-lapse Moving Art photography of nature’s splendor on the outdoor wall of the Lobero Theatre, that Louie Schwartzberg also showed to audiences on the walls of the Vatican in Rome a few years ago. A reception for all ticket holders follows the evening talk.
PHorum: Perspectives in Healthcare is VNA Health’s annual healthcare platform for national, regional, and local healthcare leaders to discuss relevant issues that affect health and wellbeing. Started in 2014, this distinguished symposium attracts hundreds of participants annually, and fosters collaboration among many voices. In 2022, WISDOM OF GRIEF will feature four notable speakers and a panel discussion moderated by Jerry Roberts to explore grief from a cultural, spiritual, mental, physical, and emotional perspective. Participants will learn about the range of grief and its impact on our wellbeing, ways to promote health through the grief journey, and tools to support grieving individuals. There will be an exhibit area for mental wellness resources from community providers.
