Improv show at the Alcazar Theater: Summer Vacation

The Alcazar Improv Players will stage a Summer Vacation themed show at 8 p.m., Saturday, July 7, at the nonprofit Alcazar Theater, formerly known as the Plaza Playhouse Theater, 4916 Carpinteria Ave. in downtown Carpinteria. The improv show will rely on the tools of improv (meaning unscripted and unrehearsed) and the help of audience suggestions and participation to bring Summer Vacation to life in glorious technicolor,” according to Tom Mueller, director of the Alcazar Theater improv troupe.

“Vacation, stay-cation, or no-cation, improv is sure to please everyone,” says Mueller. “Our aim is to make your summer the best one yet. And, as always, every show is a world premiere!”

Tickets are $10 and available online at www.thealcazar.org, at Laughing Buddha Thrift, 771 Linden Avenue in Carpinteria; at Murphy’s Vinyl Shack, 5285 Carpinteria Ave. in Carpinteria; and at the box office 30 minutes before the show. Adult refreshments as well as candy and soda pop are available for purchase at the concession stand.
