1st Thursday at Elizabeth Gordon Gallery

1st Thursday is an evening of art and culture in downtown Santa Barbara. On the first Thursday of each month, participating galleries and venues offer free access to visual and performing arts in a fun and social environment. Venues feature attractions such as art openings, live music, artists' receptions, lectures, wine tastings, and hands-on activities. We hope you will join us to enjoy our beautiful downtown and all that it has to offer!

Family 1st Thursday

Bring the whole family to enjoy Teaching Artist-led activities in the Museum’s Family Resource Center. Reimagine Impressionist painter Mary Cassatt’s Summertime (1894) in colored pencil by changing the season, time of day, or by adding additional animals to the composition. Afterward, enjoy the galleries until 8 pm.

the not so SECRET COMEDY SHOW

You’re one step away from experiencing live comedy like never before. Get up close and personal with comedians straight off of Netflix, Amazon Prime, NBC, and Comedy Central. Every show has a different lineup, and no two-drink minimums (they suck). Purchase tickets in advance to guarantee a seat or take your chances at the door and buy the night of – but no promises of prime real estate for seating.

Lobero Theatre Chamber Music Project

Lobero LIVE presents Lobero Theatre Chamber Music Project on Friday, May 5, and Saturday, May 6, at 7 PM at the Lobero Theatre, and on Sunday, May 7, at 4 PM at Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History (Fleischman Auditorium). Eight classical music luminaries from around the world perform best-regarded chamber works for strings and piano – masterpieces by Dvořák, Bruckner, Debussy, Ravel, Fauré, Mozart and Mendelssohn. Artfully curated by renowned music director/violist Heiichiro Ohyama and internationally celebrated violinist Benjamin Beilman, the chamber ensemble also includes classical music stars Lucille Chung (piano), Erin Keefe (violin), Masumi Per Rostad (viola), Robert deMaine (cello), Mayuko Ishigami (violin) and Christine J. Lee (cello). Tix go on sale Feb. 28.
