The Foodbank of Santa Barbara County will present “The Power of Cruciferous Vegetables,” a free, interactive online presentation about the bio-nutritive value of cabbage, cauliflower, greens and other vegetables called crucifers, on Wednesday, October 21 at 11:30 a.m.

As a community, Santa Barbara County has been reacting to the COVID crisis. We are also starting to engage in discussions of what the future holds. The League of Women Voters of Santa Barbara (LWVSB) is pleased to bring together a panel to discuss this topic. We will provide an update on how our community has responded and the next steps of recovery and beyond.

The Santa Barbara Maritime Museum (SBMM) is proud to announce the Santa Barbara premiere of SHE IS THE OCEAN from Inna Blokhina, acclaimed director of the award-winning film On the Wave. SHE IS THE OCEAN follows nine women from across the globe and across all ages, who share a deep and profound love of the ocean. In making this unique documentary, Blokhina selected these women, ranging from the ages of twelve to eighty-three, to create a portrait of what could be a metaphor for one woman’s ocean life through all her ages, and the film will appeal to surf enthusiasts around the world!
