Westmont Graduate Exhibit: OPEN/CLOSE

On April 4th and May 4th you have the chance to see some Westmont senior art majors present some of their final work before they leave the college. This art exhibit will feature several different forms of art, including: digital painting, photography, serigraphy, oil painting, sculpture, and assemblages. All of these students have produced very impressive pieces that you don't want to miss out on. The event is free and open to the public and will take place in the Westmont Ridley-Tree Museum of Art from 4-6 pm on April and May 4th.

Word Up! First Thursday at Youth Interactive!

Youth Interactive is excited to celebrate April's Poetry Month with visual and verbal salutations to words that make sentences that speak to all of us, poetically, personally and descriptively.

Photograph a farm animal figurine with a Polaroid camera, then create a hidden-tab landscape setting in chalk pastel, inspired by David Levinthal’s process in his works on view in "A Brilliant Spectrum: Recent Gifts of Color Photography to the Collection."

DV8 Cellars Game of Thrones Trivia Night

GAME OVER...In honor of the final Season of one of our favorite fantasy series...Join us at DV8 Cellars on Thursday April 4th starting at 6 PM for our Game of Thrones Trivia Night. We will be offering wine by the glass and bottle but no tasting flights. We have Santa Barbara Popcorn and cheese plates will be available to order from Brass Bear Brewing. Sacred Spaces Book Signing with Genevieve Antonow

Join the Santa Barbara Museum of Art Store for a visual presentation and book signing with Genevieve Antonow. Genevieve will be signing copies of her book "Sacred Spaces," a historical and illustrative exploration of the Central Coast’s diverse religious settlements, their distinctive houses of worship and universal spiritual paths amid the stunning landscape of Santa Barbara.

Spring Adult Ceramics Class

April: 4, 11, 18, 25
May: 2, 9, 16, 23, 30

Inspired by works of art in the Museum's permanent collection and current exhibitions, students of all skill levels are able to develop and refine both sculptural and functional techniques of ceramics through hand building, throwing, surface decoration, and glazing techniques. This course features small group instruction and individual attention for beginners, while advanced students are welcome to work independently. Drop-in classes available by appointment. Course includes all materials, firings, and a docent-led tour of the Museum.

Tractors, Trucks, and Trolleys, Oh My!

Join us for this fun family event where kids of all ages can learn about and explore trucks, construction vehicles, and public safety equipment. Each vehicle will have a driver present to answer questions, help kids sit in the truck, and let kids honk the horn.

This week “Solutions News Radio” will welcome Monique Limón

The new weekly local radio show, “Solutions News Radio,” hosted by the president and founder of World Business Academy, Rinaldo Brutoco, will air live this Friday from 5-6 p.m. on KZSB 1290 AM radio. There will be replay broadcasts Friday from 11 p.m.– 12 a.m., Saturday from 5- 6 p.m. and again on Sunday from 9 -10 a.m. The show will also be available on demand as a podcast.
