SSBYD Emerging Choreographer’s Showcase

Featuring innovative new works by the young choreographers of SSBYD
The State Street Ballet Young Dancers, the apprentice student company to State Street Ballet, presents a performance, showcasing the new works of student choreographers, performed by SSBYD dancers. The works feature fresh and inventive choreographic ideas, set to contemporary music, like Joe Bellion, The Walters, and Harry Baker.. The performance is sure to entertain and inspire.

UCSB Center for Research in Electronic Art Technology (CREATE) presents “Living Analog Live” with Todd Barton

The UCSB Center for Research in Electronic Art Technology (CREATE) will present "Living Analog Live," a lecture with Todd Barton, on Friday, April 19, 2019 at 12:30 pm in Studio Xenakis (Room 2215) in the Music Building. Barton will ask questions such as "Why, in this digital age, perform on analog technology from the 1970s?" resulting in a free-wheeling talk about the composer's compositional and performance process.

Santa Barbara Music Club Free Concerts

The Santa Barbara Music Club and Santa Barbara Public Library co-present a free concert at the Faulkner Gallery, 40 East Anapamu St., 3pm, Saturday, April 20. The program features Bach’s C-Major and F-sharp minor Preludes and Fugues from The Well-Tempered Clavier, Book II; his Italian Concerto; and the Brahms Sonata in F minor for clarinet and piano.

Undergraduate Student Recital: Brian Morones, Composition (College of Creative Studies)

College of Creative Studies Music Composition student Brian Morones will present his Senior Composition Recital on Saturday, April 20, 2019, at 7:30 pm in Karl Geiringer Hall in the UCSB Music Building. Original works will include pieces featuring string instruments, synthesizer solos, and a synth/drumset duet. Featured players will include Matthew Owensby, Cheryl Truong, Kristina Tsanova, Katrina Agate, Jarod Fedele, and Mr. Morones' CCS composition instructor Leslie Hogan.

Trinity Gardens Annual Egg Hunt and Plant Sale

Trinity Gardens is hosting an egg hunt for kids ages 2-10 years old on Saturday April 20th! The hunt will happen at 9:30 SHARP in the garden! Bring your hats and baskets. There will also be a plant sale going on from 9:30-11:30, stock up on your summer starts!
