Great Ones: After a lengthy hiatus, I have scheduled a Full Moon meditation for this coming Saturday night at the East end East Beach, from 8:00 to 9:00 PM.
I hope you can join us. As always, there is plenty of room for more participants, so feel free to invite 100 of your closest friends.
As in the past, these non-denominational programs are for both novice and experienced meditators.
The Goleta Valley Art Association will host an art festival featuring original works by local artists on Saturday, August 21, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at La Cumbre Plaza. Sponsors include Art Essentials, La Cumbre Plaza, La Cumbre Center for Creative Arts (LCCCA), Limousine Link, Pacific Western Bank and Santa Barbara Voice Magazine.
The show will be mounted in the outdoor mall area of the plaza and give visitors the opportunity to view and purchase the association’s artwork as well as that of artists affiliated with the La Cumbre Center for Creative Arts, which established three work/display galleries in October 2019. Tom Henderson’s Summerland Band will provide music from 1-4 p.m. Henderson, a well-known watercolorist long affiliated with the GVAA summer shows, also has served on the SBCC Lifelong Learning art faculty.
YouthWell presents Learn About Meaningful Volunteer Opportunities for Teens, a free virtual workshop on Sunday, August 22nd, 4:30 – 6:00 pm.
A one-hour class to learn about Vertebrate Pests (Gophers, Rats, and More).
Classes are Tuesday & Thursday: 6:00-9:25 PM

Driven by the desire to support women in our community, Women Supporting Women, is a social evening event and an opportunity for some fantastic local organizations to talk about their work. Come, enjoy a glass of wine, meet other fantastic women in the community, and find out about inspiring local organizations supporting women. Our special invitees include the National Association of Women Business Owners Santa Barbara Chapter, Santa Barbara Women in STEM, and Women’s Economic Ventures.
