UCSB Center for Research in Electronic Art Technology (CREATE) presents “Music Easel”

The UCSB Center for Research in Electronic Art Technology (CREATE) will present "Music Easel" on Thursday, April 18, 2019 at 8 pm in Lotte Lehmann Concert Hall in the UCSB Music Building. The concert will feature the CREATE Ensemble, three works by UCSB students, and a solo performance by featured guest, Oregon composer and Buchla maven Todd Barton. Mr. Barton will perform on a Buchla Music Easel, no digital electronics involved. The concert will be spatialized in eight channels.

This week “Solutions News Radio”will welcome Sam Horne

The new weekly local radio show, “Solutions News Radio,” hosted by Rinaldo Brutoco, president and founder of the World Business Academy, will air live this Friday from 5-6 p.m. on KZSB 1290 AM radio. There will be replay broadcasts Friday from 11 p.m.– 12 a.m., Saturday from 5- 6 p.m. and again on Sunday from 9 -10 a.m. The show is also available on demand as a podcast.

The works feature fresh and inventive choreographic ideas, set to contemporary music, like Joe Bellion, The Walters, and Harry Baker.. The performance is sure to entertain and inspire.

The UCSB Center for Research in Electronic Art Technology (CREATE) will present "Living Analog Live," a lecture with Todd Barton, on Friday, April 19, 2019 at 12:30 pm in Studio Xenakis (Room 2215) in the Music Building. Barton will ask questions such as "Why, in this digital age, perform on analog technology from the 1970s?" resulting in a free-wheeling talk about the composer's compositional and performance process.
