Santa Barbara Surf Film Festival

The Santa Barbara Surf Film Festival is taking place November 8th & 9th 2019 at the historic Arlington Theater. We’ll be screening some innovative films from up and coming filmmakers as well as some old surf film classics. The festival aims to create awareness about protecting our oceans from further damage by screening films that evoke that message, and including speakers and non-profit organizations that share the same goal.

Opera SB’s Free Masterclass with Warren Jones

Opera Santa Barbara Presents Free Masterclass with Warren Jones works

Opera Santa Barbara is proud to welcome back world-renowned pianist/conductor, Warren Jones to work with our 19|20 Chrisman Studio Artists. Held in partnership with the Braille Institute of Santa Barbara, this masterclass will feature standard repertoire in English, German, Italian, and French.

The Braille Institute is a non-profit organization offering a broad range of free programs, classes and services serving thousands of students of all ages to empower themselves to live more enriching lives with blindness and vision loss. Opera Santa Barbara is excited to partner with the Braille Institute this year to offer a bilingual “Intro to Opera” workshop for students.

The Art From Scrap CreatorLab comes alive with a themed workshop every Saturday from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. Filled with hundreds of reuse materials, our CreatorLab is sure to ignite your imagination! Children 6 years and up can stay and have fun while their parents go shopping at the Saturday Farmer’s Market – just one block away. Workshops are taught by visiting Guest Artists and AFS Staff Members. This is a perfect way to spend a morning – for artists of all ages and abilities. Cost: $8.00 per person
