Exhibition Event: A Call to Action

Please join UCSB Library in celebrating its exhibition A Call to Action: Documenting Santa Barbara's Art & Activism and hear from some of the contributors featured in the exhibition. Event will include a reception, curator tours, and zine making station.

This exhibition consists of works donated to two recent community archives: the Santa Barbara Black Lives Matter Community Archives and the COVID-19 Community Archives

Santa Barbara Permaculture Network The Second Annual Eco Hero Award

The Santa Barbara Permaculture Network Eco Hero Award honors those who have committed themselves to work in service of the planet and its inhabitants for thirty years or more, with actual solutions and concrete ways forward that benefit many, often on a global scale.

Joining us to receive the award, Paul Stamets live via Zoom, with Louie Schwartzberg live in theater, it will be an exciting & interactive evening with time for questions from the audience. Paul & Louie will share their life’s work & passion for nature, and how they came to collaborate on projects together, including the amazing Fantastic Fungi book & film. Their work will awe & inspire you!

A special treat for the community will be beautiful time-lapse Moving Art photography of nature’s splendor on the outdoor wall of the Lobero Theatre, that Louie Schwartzberg also showed to audiences on the walls of the Vatican in Rome a few years ago. A reception for all ticket holders follows the evening talk.
