In this engaging workshop, you’ll learn tangible tools, tips, and recipes for reducing food waste in your home kitchen – everything from pantry organization, to proper food storage, as well as creative ways to utilize every part of various fruits, veggies, and herbs.
This class is part demonstration and part hands-on; together we will create quick pickles from local farmers’ market vegetables.
The class will also include a crash course in everything you need to know about how to start your own worm bin. An Explore Ecology educator will teach you proper worm bin care and you’ll get a worm bin to take home to help reduce your kitchen waste even more.
Your ticket includes all materials and ingredients, a jar of quick pickles to take home, a worm bin to take home, farm fresh snacks to enjoy throughout the class, and a detailed packet featuring helpful recipes and tips for truly cooking from “root to stem”.
