YouthWell presents Learn About Meaningful Volunteer Opportunities for Teens, a free virtual workshop on Sunday, August 22nd, 4:30 – 6:00 pm.
Evidence shows volunteering helps people manage stress, feel connected and increases self-confidence. Students (ages 10-25), parents, caregivers, and teachers are invited to learn from the Non-Profit Panel of 20+ Santa Barbara County organizations about how students can create meaningful ways to volunteer and do community service. (A list of participating organizations can be found at YouthWell.org/workshops.)
Completing volunteer hours is more than checking a box off the to-do list. It’s learning about the joy of volunteering, learning new skills, and an opportunity to grow and discover new passions. This workshop will help students identify areas of interest that are meaningful to them.
YouthWell provides monthly Wellness Workshops for youth, parents, caregivers, and those working with youth, in order to eliminate stigma, open up conversations about teen mental health and connect families to resources. The Wellness Workshops are designed to empower parents and youth in Santa Barbara County with a strength-based approach providing tools that promote connection, wellness, and self-care in order to build resilience so we are all better equipped to cope with stress and challenging situations.
“Every workshop I have attended with YouthWell has had great speakers & valuable information. The information I have learned has made my family’s & my life better. Grateful!” -SB Parent
