For 40 years Postpartum Education for Parents (PEP) has been helping families through the postpartum adjustment period. We bring families with the similar-aged babies together to share the high and lows of their journey. This is supposed to be the most beautiful time in their lives, but sometimes it’s not. Depression, anxiety, obsessive worry, intrusive thoughts, PTSD from a traumatic birth; these are all things that can happen to a new parent and we need to support these families through it.
Together We Heal: A Walk for Wellness with PEP is an event aimed at raising awareness and reducing the stigma surrounding perinatal mood and anxiety disorders (PMADs) like postpartum depression, postpartum anxiety & OCD, postpartum PTSD, postpartum psychosis, bipolar/peripartum onset, and pregnancy depression and anxiety.

Parents and their families will gather together for this fundraising event at Leadbetter Beach. Join us as we walk to the top of Shoreline Park and back down to Leadbetter for to give us a chance to share stories and support one another. Welcome Every Baby (WEB) is a free, personalized, home-visiting program for babies from birth through 18 months and their families. WEB runs through the Santa Barbara County Education Office (SBCEO). WEB nurses provide a home visit preferably within 48 hours post-release from the hospital to cover breastfeeding support, education and support for perinatal mood and anxiety disorders (PMADs), developmental screenings, and referrals to other community support agencies like PEP.
