Together We Heal: A Walk for Wellness with PEP

Together We Heal: A Walk for Wellness with PEP is an event aimed at raising awareness and reducing the stigma surrounding perinatal mental illnesses like postpartum depression, postpartum anxiety & OCD, postpartum PTSD, postpartum psychosis, bipolar/peripartum onset, and pregnancy depression and anxiety.
This year’s funds raised will support Welcome Every Baby.
Welcome Every Baby (WEB) is a free, personalized, home-visitation program for newborns and their families. WEB runs through the Santa Barbara County Education Office (SBCEO). WEB nurses provide a home visit preferably within 48 hours post-release from hospital to cover breast feeding support, education and support for prenatal mood and anxiety disorders (PMAD), developmental screenings, and referrals to other community support agencies like PEP.
All the funds raised will be donated by PEP in support of WEB and used specifically for extra follow-up visits for families that show signs of PMAD or are at high risk of developing PMAD in the future.
We can’t wait for Together We Heal 2017, to be held on Saturday, June 17th. Mark your calendars! We will gather at Leadbetter Beach at 9 am and we will walk, stroll, or bike up the hill to Shoreline Park. There will be a small reception to give people the chance to talk, play and support one another.
