May 7, 2022 @ 6:00 am PDT

Museum of Contemporary Art Santa Barbara (MCASB) is delighted to announce the opening of the exhibition, “Through What Agency?” with a public Opening Reception on Saturday, May 7, 6-8 pm. Address: 653 Paseo Nuevo, Santa Barbara, 93101
.
Over the course of four months, MCASB will turn its galleries into an evolving community-driven space dedicated to exploring how individuals, organizations, and businesses in Santa Barbara County address issues related to climate change, and climate justice. “Through What Agency?” on view from May 8 – August 21, 2022, is one part exhibition, featuring works by Jacob Kirkegaard and the Social Print Lab, and one part Community Classroom which will showcase a rotation of projects from MCASB’s TAC, ELA, and the broader Santa Barbara community. On both a micro and a macro scale the Santa Barbara community is actively engaged in furthering the discourse around innovative and accessible steps toward combating climate change. Featuring workshops, lectures, screenings, and hands-on activities for the whole family, MCASB will underline the crucial work that is being done right here in Santa Barbara.
.
“Through What Agency?” is one of MCASB’s contributions to Impact: Climate Change and the Urgency of Now, the inaugural project of the Environmental Alliance of Santa Barbara County Museums.
