On this episode of Solutions News we interview Das Williams, current Santa Barbara County First District Supervisor and Santa Barbara and Ventura County local. Williams is running for reelection to provide solutions for clean energy and public service protection. Topics he will address include gun violence, carbon emissions, disaster preparedness, and county revenue sources. In the past, Williams has served as a Santa Barbara City Councilmember, leading the local movement toward renewable energy and helping protect teachers from layoffs during the recession. During his time in the State Assembly, Williams again worked against fossil fuels, began his work against gun violence in light of the Isla Vista shooting, and served as chair of the Assembly Higher Education Committee.
