The Three: A Special DramaDogs Performance for Santa Barbara Reads

A good story has the power to entertain and delight, broaden our views of self and community, and become a springboard that ignites the imagination and inspires other art forms.
Using the 2017 Santa Barbara Reads book selection, Station Eleven, as just such an inspiration, DramaDogs has created a performance piece, The Three, that will take audiences on a theatrical journey integrating original stories, the words of Shakespeare, music, and movement. All of these elements blend together to express the themes of fate, home, what we value, and the calling of the creative spirit…because survival, truly, is insufficient.
Under the direction of E. Bonnie Lewis and Ken Gilbert The Three features the skills of E. Bonnie Lewis, Leslie Gangl Howe and Nita June Davanzo.
The Santa Barbara Public Library invites the community to attend any of the four upcoming SB Reads special performances. All shows are at 5:00 PM and are free:
– Thursday, November 9 at Carpinteria Library
– Thursday, November 16 at Montecito Library
– Sunday, November 19 at Central Library
– Thursday, November 30 at Solvang Library
DramaDogs is a theater company that aims to develop theatrical pieces, training programs, and educational outreach activities that will touch the human spirit. They craft productions and workshops that provide opportunities for actors and performers to explore and discover their creativity through personal experiences, discoveries, and awareness. The Three is made possible through support from the Santa Barbara County Office of Arts and Culture.
Santa Barbara Reads is supported by a grant from NEA Big Read, a program of the National Endowment for the Arts in partnership with Arts Midwest.
