TITLE: The Dire News about the News: Why Journalism is in Freefall, Why it Matters, and What Can be Done.

Many people rely on the news to explain events and issues of the day. This is especially the case in an election year. However, the state of news media has become increasingly precarious, and turbulent change is like to accelerate during this decade. Prof. Kruvand, formerly a journalist, will discuss forces and trends that have combined to create a “perfect storm,” threatening American journalism’s future and what we risk losing if that happens.
