The Art of Indigo Dyeing Workshop

Learn about the magic of indigo, a plant-based dye that has been used for thousands of years to create many hues of blue. Guest artist Derek Horn will teach us how to mix an indigo dye vat to get the most from this natural pigment.

Participants will learn Shibori techniques, the Japanese art of shaped resist dyeing, to create beautiful designs on fabric. Everyone will leave with their own indigo creation and basic knowledge of the indigo process from plant to pigment.

This class will be two hours and ticket price includes materials, instruction, and a glass of wine. Each attendee is welcome to bring one small 100% cotton item of their own to dye in the indigo vat.
