The 6th Annual Maternal Health Panel is brought to you by the Santa Barbara Chapter of the International Cesarean Awareness Network.
The 6th Annual Maternal Health Panel is brought to you by the Santa Barbara Chapter of the International Cesarean Awareness Network. It will bring together some of the best and the boldest minds in maternal health in our community and surrounding areas. For the 5th year in a row the panel will be hosted and moderated by local ICAN leaders, activists and Doulas Anastasia Stone and Kimberly Denitz-Zuleger and will include excerpts from the film “Born Free,” co-produced by local advocate Sara Ojjeh.
The expert panel will consist of Doula and Activist Flor Cruz of Badassmotherbirth, Dr. Emiliano Chavira, MD, MFM, OBGYN, Dr. Melissa Drake, MD, OBGYN, and many more…Discussions surrounding maternal mortality, access to midwifery care, obstetrical violence, lowering cesareans rates, and the local fight against Cottage Hospital’s VBAC ban will all take center stage in an interactive conversation you don’t want to miss. The event will bring together local midwives who are serving our community for an opportunity to see and hear these wonderful women as we recognize them for their achievements in holistic care.
Please come early to meet many of our local practitioners who will be tabling with their offerings and resources, and to enjoy healthy snacks, and community engagement before the event. All ticket donations go towards the Santa Barbara Chapter of the International Cesarean Awareness Network. No one will be turned away for lack of funds, please reach out to ICAN for a ticket. This event is open to the community at large. Birth affects us all…so come learn, engage, and meet your maternal health care community!
