The Santa Barbara Summer Solstice Celebration has received $7500 grant award is from the Towbes Fund for the Performing Arts, a field of interest fund of the Santa Barbara Foundation. This award gives programmatic support to assist in the creation of performing arts pieces for the Parade and Festival to honor the 50th anniversary of the Solstice Parade.

The 2-month Workshop at the CAW (Collaborative Arts Workshop) is the heart of Solstice where the community comes together to create the Parade alongside experts in the celebration arts. The grant will provide honorariums for aspiring artists in residence to incorporate dance, movement, mime and theatre pieces in the Parade and Festival. Artists with a focus on dance, movement, mime, theater, performance arts may apply by submitting a proposal online.
The Towbes Fund for the Performing Arts, a field of interest fund of the Santa Barbara Foundation established by Mr. Michael Towbes, significantly augments the foundation’s capacity to support performing arts.
