SlingShot Art Studio & Gallery will be hosting an opening reception as part of 1st Thursday on June 7, 2018 from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm. Our new exhibit, Reference Point, is a group exhibition featuring art inspired by popular culture and personal experiences. Megan Isaac’s painting Spiritual Culture explores her fascination with powerful women.
SlingShot is an art studio and gallery for artists with intellectual disabilities who want to create and sell art. The work is notable for its uninfluenced raw creativity. Each piece, whether it is a drawing, painting, sculpture or textile, tells a story reflecting the perspective of an artist. The open studio environment is designed to encourage creative expression and the on-site gallery offers an exhibition space that fosters a supportive link to the Santa Barbara art community. Each artist is recognized for their talent and artistic vision.
Reference Point will be running from May 14th – June 29th. Visitors are encouraged to visit the studio and gallery for the opening reception on June 7th. SlingShot is open to the public Monday through Friday from 8:30 am – 4:30 pm and is located at 220 W. Canon Perdido, Suite A.
