Universal health care coverage and The Medicare for All Act of 2019, HR 1384, introduced by Pramila Jayapala in February, will be the topic discussed on Wednesday, October 9th, 7 to 8:30 PM, at Live Oak Unitarian Universalist Congregation, 820 N. Fairview in Goleta . All are welcome and admission is free.
A recent Commonwealth Fund survey showed that while 27% of working age people support replacing private health insurance with a “Medicare for All” system, 40% say they need more information to form an opinion on the proposal. This meeting will provide the opportunity for those who are struggling to decide if Medicare for All is a good idea, and if so, is it achievable.
Short videos and presentations will be followed by Q and A, and printed materials will also be available.
The event is being sponsored by the Santa Barbara Chapters of Democratic Socialists of America and Health Care for All and the Live Oak UU Congregation.
