Producing a Digital Newsletter
SBCC Career Skills Institute
Learn to produce a Digital Newsletter, applying basic skills in Adobe InDesign to format and produce newsletters for fixed and digital formats. Students are given guidance in creating a newsletter prototype while working in a computer lab.
Students may elect to take this course independent of a Career Skills Institute digital badge or apply it to the Digital Printing: Newsletters & Magazines certificate. Students who complete this badge will have demonstrated ability to create a digital newsletter and a digital magazine. Note: 2 Required
To obtain the Digital Design Basics Badge, students must complete a total of two courses:
(1) Producing a Digital Newsletter (required)
(2) Producing a Digital Magazine (required)
Producing a Digital Newsletter takes place on two Saturdays, March 16 and March 23 from 9:00 AM until 1:00 PM.

Participants who complete a certificate will also earn a Santa Barbara City College digital badge. Badges earned at the SBCC Career Skills Institute can be posted in online profiles such as LinkedIn, websites and resumes to easily showcase competitive skills to employers.
Career Skills Institute at Santa Barbara City College
The SBCC Career Skills Institute is part of the programs offered through the SBCC School of Extended Learning. It launched in 2015 to address the growing gap between the skills employers need and the current lack of workforce skills. The innovative program is endorsed by LinkedIn® and serves job seekers, employers and employees with a tuition–free, noncredit certificate program to provide career training for employees and job seekers. Participants can earn certificates and digital badges demonstrating knowledge and skills in over 25 areas of business, design, technology, and career education.
