Join us for the Quire of Voyces ‘Furusato’ Concerts on May 18th and 19th at 3 pm both days at the St. Anthony’s Chapel at the Garden Street Academy and directed by the talented Nathan Kreitzer. These final Santa Barbara concerts of our 30th Season will feature our Performance Tour program for our subsequent trip to Japan in late June.
Highlighted by local Composer-in-Residence Steve Dombek’s ‘Mass for Six Voices’ and local composer Emma Lou Diemer’s ‘Be Still’, both Commissioned works, the concerts will also include American pieces and works sung in Japanese. Please join us and be the first to hear this concert program before it makes its way around performance venues in Japan. You’ll enjoy the musical variety and the beautiful choral sounds of Furusato, which means ‘homeland’, as expressed in the resonant acoustic of St. Anthony’s Chapel. Please come and be transported by the beauty of a cappella choral music, brought to life by the Quire of Voyces and the vision of Artistic Director Nathan Kreitzer.
