Bill Macfadyen, the founder and publisher of Noozhawk, a local news website covering Santa Barbara County, will be the keynote speaker at the May 9 monthly meeting of the Santa Barbara Executive Roundtable (SABER).
SABER, Santa Barbara’s premier small business educator and networking organization, will host Macfadyen for a talk entitled “Keeping it Fresh: How Noozhawk is making a Difference, for Santa Barbara and the News Media.”
Macfadyen has several years of experience managing media companies. He spent the first half of his career with Fossil Media, including 15 years as senior editor of Santa Barbara’s daily newspaper and three more years at the helm of the former weekly, South Coast Beacon. Macfadyen will talk candidly about the lessons learned through his career, and the past and future of Noozhawk.
The SABER seminar takes place from 7:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. at The University Club, 1332 Santa Barbara St., with coffee and networking starting at 7:30 a.m. The cost is $35 with RSVP until the day before the event and $40 at the door. Checks and cash are accepted at the door. A buffet breakfast is included.
