The Santa Barbara Symphony concludes its sensational 2018-2019 season with the beloved classic Romeo & Juliet, conducted by Music and Artistic Director Nir Kabaretti on Sunday, May 12 at 3:00 pm at The Granada Theatre (1214 State St). William Shakespeare’s immortal tragedy Romeo and Juliet has inspired masterful scores by the likes of Berlioz, Prokofiev, and even Leonard Bernstein. Tchaikovsky’s Overture-Fantasy is perhaps the most emotionally resonant of them all. Following Romeo & Juliet will be Elmer Bernstein’s eclectic, post-Romantic Songs of Love and Loathing, which the Santa Barbara Symphony premiered in 1989. The season concludes in high style – with Antonín Dvorák’s euphoric Symphony No. 8. The performance also will feature vocals from Mezzo-Soprano Leann Sandel-Pantaleo. Tickets range from $29-$135, for questions please call (805) 899-2222 or email at info@thesymphony.org.
