Giuseppe Verdi’s La Traviata is one of the best known operas, and was featured in the 1990 Hollywood blockbuster “Pretty Woman.” It tells the story of a real-life courtesan in mid-19th century Paris, and contains some of the most famous melodies in opera. It is presented for one performance only by Opera Santa Barbara, the city’s only professional music theater company. Starring soprano Anya Matanovich and tenor Nathan Granner, and featuring the full OSB Chorus and 35-member orchestra conducted by Kostis Protopapas.
