The Santa Barbara Book Club has established, with the cooperation of Chuck Flacks and the PATH program that administers homeless shelter that provides overnight safety and a myriad of social and medical services to the homeless population of Santa Barbara) a “Little Free Library” within the shelter itself.
It is hoped that this Little Free Library will provide the shelter’s users with entertainment and relief.
Little Free Libraries are located throughout Santa Barbara and across the nation by volunteers who wish to share books with others.
Books at this Little Free Library are free to use by any interested reader. The books can be kept or shared with others and need not be returned to the library. There is no need to register of “sign up” to participate. As in almost all such cases, the library will be refreshed with new materials on a regular basis by its sponsor(s). In this case that is The Santa Barbara Book Club which meets monthly at Java Station Coffee at 7:30 p.m. generally on the third Monday of each month.
People interested in further information on this Little Free Library can contact Bernice James at 805 563 0350.
