The Zentangle Method is an easy-to-learn, relaxing, and fun way to create beautiful abstract images by drawing structured patterns. No experience with art is required- if you can write your name- you can create a small Zentangle masterpiece, one stroke at a time! It increases focus and creativity, provides artistic satisfaction along with an increased sense of personal well-being. The Zentangle Method of art meditation is enjoyed all over the world, across a wide range of skills, interests and ages.
One of the wonderful things about this art method is that the supply list is simple and portable so you can create art wherever you go!
Supplies you’ll need for class:
One 3.5” square piece of white paper (which we call a “tile”). I recommend a thick cardstock (the nicest paper you have!), cut out into a square with 3.5 inch (8.9 cm long sides). As an option- you can print out this square tiles outline pdf onto 8.5” x 11” paper and cut it out! I put several squares on this printable pdf so you have extra ones to continue creating on your own if you so wish (and to use as much of the paper as possible). We’ll work with this small square piece of paper as our canvas because it’s easier to turn as you draw.
Black very fine point ink pen (l use Sakura’s Pigma Micron 01 which has a .25mm nib)
Graphite pencil (most basic graphite pencils will do!)
Paper/blending stump, tortillon), or q-tip/cotton swab for blending the graphite!
