The Alcazar Improv Players will stage a Mother’s Day show at 8 p.m., Saturday, May 12, at the nonprofit Alcazar Theater, formerly known as the Plaza Playhouse Theater, 4916 Carpinteria Ave. in downtown Carpinteria. The Mother’s Day Show is unscripted and unrehearsed, relying on the tools of improv with the help of audience suggestions and participation, according to Tom Mueller, director of the Alcazar Theater improv troupe.
“Not even moms know what’s going to happen at an improv show. No matter how well your mom may think she knows you, you’ll be sure to surprise her Saturday night. Make this Mother’s Day one she’ll remember forever,” says Mueller, who, like millions of Americans across the country, has a mother. “Every show is a world premiere!”
Tickets are $10 and available at the box office 30 minutes before the show. Adult refreshments as well as candy and soda pop are available for purchase at the concession stand. For more information, call Tom Mueller at (805) 794-7467. www.thealcazar.org.
