Hiking the Oregon Coast Trail with Bonnie Henderson
Free Online Presentation with Q&A
Thursday, December 16th, 5:30pm
From wide beaches to lush forests to windswept bluffs and dramatic sea stacks, the stunning coast of Oregon is emerging as the next great long-distance hiking experience. Stretching from the Columbia River to the California border this 400-mile trail with its epic scenery now has its own dedicated guidebook.
Join author Bonnie Henderson, who has just written the first guidebook for thru-hikers, as she shares the ins and outs of hiking this trail, including when to go, where to camp, how to deal with bay mouths and gaps in the trail, and why this hike is her favorite.
An avid hiker, Bonnie is the leading authority on the Oregon Coast Trail, having thru-hiked the trail multiple times. Her website, hikingtheoct.com is the go to source for OCT hikers.
In addition to Hiking the Oregon Coast Trail, Bonnie is also the author of two other Oregon hiking guidebooks, as well as two nonfiction books: The Next Tsunami: Living on a Restless Coast and Strand: An Odyssey of Pacific Ocean Debris.
