You have heard about midwives and associate them with birth. Another term you may have heard is a “birth doula”-someone who is present during pregnancy, the birth, and afterward to support the new mom and the family.
End-of-life doulas are a new and emerging field and have a lot to offer in terms of understanding and preparing for death. In Santa Barbara, we are lucky enough to have a team of trained and experienced doulas who provide their services for free.
In this lively and uplifting exchange, learn what an end-of-life doula provides in preparing for death, during the process, and afterward. Learn about this valuable resource so that you know who to ask when you need their loving support.
