Graduate pianist Ariella Mak-Neiman will present a virtual Doctor of Musical Arts lecture recital, titled “Haydn Revisited,” on Monday, April 12, 2021 at 6 pm PDT as a YouTube Premiere via the Department of Music’s YouTube channel. The lecture will explore the atavistic elements of Haydn’s aesthetic priorities, compositional devices, and interpretive expectations in the context of his intriguing Sonata in B-flat Major, Hob. XVI:18 (1766-67). Mak-Neiman is a Doctor of Musical Arts candidate from the studio of UC Santa Barbara Professor Paul Berkowitz.
