Unity of Santa Barbara’s “Movies That Matter” series continues with Fried Green Tomatoes, on Friday, August 4th at 7 PM. Based on Fannie Flagg’s book Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe, the beloved 1991 film stars Kathy Bates, Jessica Tandy, Mary Stuart Masterson, Mary-Louise Parker, and Cicely Tyson. Fannie also makes an appearance in the film and co-wrote the Oscar-nominated screenplay. Fannie will be present at the special screening at Unity of Santa Barbara, which includes a Q&A. Join in the discussion about why Fried Green Tomatoes is a movie that matters. Tickets are $15 each or 2 for $25, with refreshments included. Proceeds benefit Unity of Santa Barbara.
