The Santa Barbara Council of Charitable Gift Planners (CGP) will host its first educational luncheon meeting of the year on Tuesday, February 11, 2020 from noon to 1:30 p.m. at Harry’s Plaza Café, 3313 State Street, Santa Barbara. The speaker is Jeremy Lurey, Ph.D., an expert in family legacy and governance, who will help attendees better understand what makes a high-performance family and how to better support these families to drive enhanced charitable giving.
Dr. Lurey is the President and CEO of Family Legacy 1st, a Plus Delta Consulting company. With 25 years of progressive experience as an organizational psychologist and group facilitator, Lurey serves clients ranging from multi-generation families of significant wealth to mid-market companies to Fortune 500, multi-national corporations.
With a passion for helping multi-generation families sustain their legacies, Lurey helps families to transfer their wealth and transition their businesses from one generation to the next. He holds M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Organizational Psychology. Before establishing his practice, he worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers and Andersen Consulting.
Continuing education CFRE credit is provided.

The Charitable Gift Planners of Santa Barbara, formerly known as the Planned Giving Round Table of Santa Barbara, is a professional association for non-profit development officers and allied professionals in financial, legal, accounting, and consulting services. The chapter’s purpose is to educate members about charitable gift planning, advance the mission of non-profit organizations, and better serve the philanthropic goals of donors and clients. The local council is affiliated with and a Chapter of the National Association of Charitable Gift Planners.
