The Squire Foundation was created by the late Morris Bear Squire who believed that the Artist had an obligation socially and morally to share with the world their creations. In so doing, they shared thoughts and ideals to give pleasure and inspire others to express themselves to build a better society and community.
He believed that public art brought attention to the environment and each individual’s personal obligation to it. Public art as far back as the caveman has given meaning and identity to man and his place in the universe. Mr. Squire fulfills his destiny by sharing his visions of the world as he sees it with humor and a light touch.
Public recognition and appreciation for his sharing his work with Guadalupe will be a ribbon-cutting event at City Hall, 918 Obispo Street, Guadalupe on August 29th at 11:00 am. Light refreshments will be provided before the ceremony and maps provided for an individual walking tour of the sculptures in their settings around town.
