What if you could engage Picasso to teach your child art, or Miro, Matisse, Renoir or Chagall? What inspiration could be gained? What techniques could be learned? What imaginations could be set free? While these great artist are long gone and may not be available to give lessons directly, their works endure and are accessible as artistic tools in the hands of the right teacher.
Heather Stern utilizes master works from artists such as these as if they were textbooks, revealing the secrets of the masters in ways that children can understand and emulate. She builds on the basics, teaches her students how to “see” their subjects and layers on techniques that help them to achieve results that will make them proud. All of this is done in a fun, friendly atmosphere, in private lessons or small classes where she can give careful attention and inspiration to each student. The results have been amazing:
“I cannot say enough good things about Heather’s art class. Seeing both my seven and three-year-old grow their worldly knowledge of important historical artists, as well as their engagement in the arts has been a joy to watch! It has rapidly become their favorite activity, and as someone who is more “business-brained” I can say that her style and methods has inspired me to learn more about her curriculum. Five Stars!” Sonny P
Heather has her Bachelors in Studio Arts from Loyola Marymount University, Los Angeles and studied at the prestigious Slade School of Fine Arts in London, England.
