Please join us in celebrating extraordinary student artists and their works of art at a reception on May 2nd!
For more than twenty years, Santa Barbara Channelkeeper’s Student Art Show has celebrated the connection between young people and the ocean. Every spring, high school students from Carpinteria to Goleta are invited to create and submit their interpretations of what the Santa Barbara Channel means to them. The artwork honors the remarkable beauty and biodiversity of the Santa Barbara Channel, and it also inspires our community to protect it.
Local artist Kelly Clause, who participated as a student, will jury the show and will select awards for 1st, 2nd, 3rd, Honorable Mention, Juror’s Choice, and an Environmental Ethics award. Award-winning pieces will be announced at the artist reception.
The community is invited to celebrate the artists at a reception on Thursday, May 2nd from 5:00pm to 8:00 pm that will take place at the Jodi House Gallery at 625 Chapala Street in Santa Barbara.
The show is sponsored by Trillium Enterprise, Inc. and the City of Goleta Grant Program.
