Channelkeeper Board Walks are occasional walks and talks around town to explore water from different perspectives. They are designed for the whole community to understand our place in nature, especially with respect to life-giving water, and the importance of protecting our environment. Each is led by a Channelkeeper board member, drawing upon their expertise as naturalists, hydrologists, nature film producers, native plant gardeners, and more.
Our next Board Walk will be a loop around the Cold Spring Trail. Please meet us at the trailhead at 811 East Mountain Drive, Saturday, April 20th to learn about the significance of this perennial stream, it’s journey to the Channel, and the important role that the Cold Spring plays in the surrounding ecosystem.
This short hike will be led by board member Benjamin Goedert, Development Director at Santa Barbara International Film Festival.
The walk includes a moderate climb on a dirt trail. Participants should wear sturdy shoes and bring a hat, water, and sunscreen. Any dogs joining the walk must be kept on-leash.
We look forward to seeing you on Saturday, April 20th, 10:00 am.
