Mitchell is more relevant today than ever. She is the subject of a new biography, “Reckless Daughter,” by David Yaffe. And, “Blue,” Mitchell’s 1974 masterpiece, just topped NPR’s Greatest 150 Albums by Women earlier this year. Come hear all your favorite Joni hits, including Help Me, Big Yellow Taxi, Free Man in Paris, River, Blue, Conversation and, of course, Woodstock … Plus the band just added an incredible new arrangement of “Dreamland” by veteran LA saxman, Kim Richmond, that mashes up Joni’s ethereal missive (from “Don Juan’s Reckless Daughter”) with Herbie Hancock’s funk classic, “Cantaloupe Island.” The result is a hot Latin Jazz number.
This is COJM’s last local performance of the year, following well attended shows in New Orleans and Ventura.
