Santa Barbara Village and the University Club of Santa Barbara announce the ‘‘Caregiver Respite Options: A Vehicle for Self Care” presentation that will take place Tuesday, April 10, 2:00 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. at the University Club of Santa Barbara, 1332 Santa Barbara St., 93101. Kendra L. Webster, MSW, Executive Director, Coast Caregiver Resource Center, will be the featured speaker. The Empowered Aging Monthly Lecture Series takes place on the second Tuesday of each month at the University Club and is free and open to the public. Seating is limited, so reservations are requested prior to the scheduled presentation.
Ms. Webster will discuss the various types of respite care that are available in the Santa Barbara community and provide an overview of why self-care is critical to the health and wellbeing of caregivers. She has over 20 years of experience with older adults, their families and caregivers. Prior to her current position of Executive Director of Coast Caregiver Resource Center, a program of Cottage Rehabilitation Hospital, she was a Family Consultant, Education & Training Coordinator and the Clinical Manager for the Del Mar Caregiver Resource Center.
