café KITP – Order from Chaos: Tracing the Life and Death of Stars

The starry night sky has inspired us for millennia. More than sources of inspiration, stars also play an essential role in shaping the Universe we call home. Stars tell their life stories through signals traversing vast distances in space and time.
Over dinner and drinks, KITP Postdoctoral Scholar Benny Tsang will share how recent technologies transform astrophysicists into cosmic detectives, allowing them to decipher the secrets of how stars are born and how they end their lives in spectacular events.
