Buttonwood Farm Winery Hosting ‘Concert in the Vines’

Buttonwood Farm Winery announces the return of their summer concert with Rockin’ Our Roots – Concert in the Vines on July 22nd, from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm. The public is invited to enjoy a summer afternoon at Buttonwood’s beautiful farm and vineyard. Two live bands, The Soul Cats and Crown City Bombers, will be performing on the stage near the Vineyard Pond.
The public is invited to bring a lawn chair, a picnic, and their dancing shoes (or flip flops). $45.00 tickets include a logo GoVino glass, two generous pours of wine, and admission to the concert. 
McConnell’s Fine Ice Cream will be on-site, along with two food trucks. Wine will be available for sale by the bottle (no other alcoholic beverages are permitted). To make this event even better, a portion of ticket sales will benefit Explore Ecology, an environmental and arts education nonprofit in Santa Barbara.
Alex Bereda, Explore Ecology’s Education Director says, “We’re really honored to be the beneficiary of Buttonwood’s Concert in the Vines. It’s a natural fit for us to work together. In our School Gardens Program we teach children how to create healthy soil and grow organic food. Buttonwood is dedicated to building soil health, growing great food, and producing excellent wine. We hope that Explore Ecology supporters will come rock out in the vines with us on July 22nd.”
Nicole Carnevale, Buttonwood’s Director of Sales, says, “We love the collaboration. So much of what we do here at Buttonwood revolves around farming, from the peaches in the orchard to the grapes on the vine. This event will help support bringing farming to our local schools and getting kids excited about growing their own food.”
Located in the beautiful Santa Ynez Valley, Buttonwood’s 39-acre vineyard is part of a 106-acre property. Planted in 1983, Buttonwood has 33,000 vines. Some of the other crops grown on the ecological farm include olives, pomegranates, peonies, herbs, summer vegetables, and peaches. Most of the growing done at Buttonwood is organic, without the use of synthetic chemicals.
Seyburn Zorthian, Owner and Partner of Buttonwood says. “Next year we will be celebrating the 50th anniversary of Buttonwood Farm. My mother, Betty Williams founded Buttonwood with the vision of creating a working farm based on good practices for people, animals and the earth. Explore Ecology was a natural fit, they are bringing some of those same ideas to our local schools; bringing kids back to farming and back to creating.”
